Ambassador Gharibabadi in reaction to US, Saudi and Israeli Statements: How do you talk about transparency and cooperation?!

Dr. Kazem Gharibabadi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, reacted to the statements by the US, Saudi and Zionist Representatives at the IAEA’s Board of Governors special meeting on November 7.

Responding to the US Representative's remarks at this meeting on having full confidence in the IAEA Inspector’s professional work, Gharibabadi questioned this statement and asked if this is so, why the US kept ignoring the previous 16 continuous IAEA reports confirming Iran’s full implementation of the JPCOA and even withdrew unilaterally and illegally from it?

In response to the Representative of the Zionist regime on Iran's nuclear program, Ambassador Gharibabadi said: "This regime must first distance itself from all crimes and weapons of mass destruction, and clean its hands before attending this meeting. A regime that is not a party to any of Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Treaties and as the sole holder of nuclear weapons which is the most serious obstacle to the realization of a nuclear-free zone in West Asia, is not in a position to advise member states to fulfil their obligations and cooperate with the Agency."

He also responded to Saudi Arabia's remarks on the need of a full cooperation of Iran with the Agency, asking how Saudi Arabia talks about transparency and cooperation while not allowing IAEA inspectors entering its facilities and neither passing nor implementing the comprehensive safeguards agreement. "Saudi Arabia must end its clandestine nuclear activities and set Iran as a model for cooperation and transparency," Ambassador Gharibabadi added.
