IAEA New report on the JCPoA

Ambassador Kazem Gharib Abadi, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna stated that the 16th report by the IAEA refers also to new decisions by the Islamic Republic of Iran to reduce it's obligations under the nuclear deal.

Gharib Abadi called the 16th report of IAEA on theverification of the implementation of the JCPOA, "a sign of the good faith of the Islamic Republic of Iran to maintain multilateralism in international relations."

He added that as in the fifteenth previous reports of the Director General, this report also states that since the implementation of JPCoA, the Agency has continued to monitor and verify Iran's compliance with its nuclear obligations under the terms of the JPCOA."

He also stated that in this report, there is a clear reference to the National Security Council's order to stop some of Iran's actions under the terms of Articles 26 and 36 of the JCPOA. Based on the report, the stockpile of enriched uranium as of August 19th was declared 241.6 kg, including 25.1 kg of 4,5% enriched uranium. According to the JCPOA, Iran can hold a maximum of 202,8 kg of enriched uranium.

Ambassador Gharib Abadi stressed that "the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined and serious in taking the steps announced in its recent decision and as repeatedly stated; the full and honest fulfillment of the obligations of all parties is a fundamental basis for the continuation of the nuclear deal. If we want the JPCoA to survive, the remaining members must ensure Iran’s benefits from the JCPOA by taking urgent and appropriate actions within specified timeframe."
